ANIME CATEGORY

Just like movies, anime have different genres that suit the taste of the readers but there is a distinctive classification of  anime which based on age and gender. While it may be similar to the rating of movies, anime with the same age group shared similar characteristics including the visual and story line.

Kodomomuke

The youngest category is "Kodomomuke" which target young children below the age of 8. These anime are heavily fantasy and cheerful in relation to the imagine of young children, thus most of the scene rarely involve real life. However, the moral is still embed within the story educating the audience.





Shonen 

This type of anime is targeted at young boy typically between the age of 8 and 18 years old that usually involve a boy going on an adventure while getting mature as the story goes on. Within Shonen, battle between opposing opponents involve minimal blood injuries or avoiding death scene.


Seinen 

is the older version of Shonen that aimed at adolescent boy usually above 15 years old. The character in Seinen are more mature and older compare to Shonen. As it is targeted at older audience they have more violent and grotesque scene with the addition of nudity. They are usually shown in the form of dark background and blood stain during fights. The story is also darker with more struggling and hardship comparably to real life when things do not always end in happy ending.


Shojo 

 On the opposite gender, Shojo target young girls and usually involve
the love story of a young couple instead of adventure and battle of Shonen anime.



Josei

meaning woman in Japanese is similar to Shojo but
it target older audience with a more realistic relationship
between character as oppose to the fantasy Shojo.
